The crazy birds of the festival

Not many words need to be said. Take a look at the picture gallery and get your own impression of the OAF audience.

From trendy outfits to fishnet pants and snakeskin dresses, at Openair Frauenfeld you'll find pretty much everything that was once "in" - or probably never should have been.

And yes, there really is a stuffed, weird bird.

The overzealous security and the vomiting Tyla Yaweh

There have already been a few upsets at this year's OAF, such as Roddy Ricch kicking a fan on stage. Now several clips are going viral in which the rappers and their respective security are not looking so good.

Here, for example, a fan is brutally pushed off the stage as he sneaks up during a concert.

Furthermore, Playboi Carti was so much in his element that he promptly forgot how long his stage actually was. The US rapper falls backwards - and without any outside influence - to the ground. He wasn't injured, but it was certainly a bizarre event.

Tyla Yaweh probably didn't have a good day either: the musician threw up in the middle of his concert and was filmed from all sides. He may have delivered, but it was definitely not nice to watch.

Caution: Creepy! Here is the clip.

SSIO presents his selfie with Angela Merkel

In rap, it's the order of the day to criticize society, the government and even individual politicians. Scandal artist SSIO has probably used a giant selfie of himself and Angela Merkel as a stage set, more ironically.

Whether the former German Chancellor knew who she was taking the photo with remains to be seen. But SSIO seems to have been pleased. It is more likely that the rapper has allowed himself a Photoshop joke.

The rapper in yellow at the front, behind him in a tuxedo next to Angela Merkel. Of course, it could also be Photoshop, but that would probably only be half as cool.

And if you don't know SSIO, listen to the song at your own risk. We've warned you.

The search for coolness and shade

It's warm inside all those people anyway, but the Frauenfeld guests don't let that stop them from partying. On Friday afternoon, Danitsa and Monet192, among others, took to the stage to heat up the crowd.

Lots of bare skin and sunshine was the motto.

The festival comes to an end on Saturday with headliner A$AP Rocky and German returnee Sido, who you can watch live and for free at home. In addition, blue Music host Annina Frey will meet him for an interview and ask him about his experiences at Openair Frauenfeld.

Playboi Carti defends fan, Roddy Ricch hits out

After his performance at Openair Frauenfeld yesterday, US rapper Roddy Ricch may have lost a few of his fans: When a fan runs onto the stage and is attacked by security, Roddy Ricch kicks him. This was after the fan had already been wrestled to the floor.

Playboi Carti, who protected a fan from his security and took him in his arms, received thunderous applause. He even gave him the microphone and celebrated, dancing exuberantly.

An experience at the OAF that he will certainly not forget for a long time.

    Body art in the audience

Anyone who pays attention to the outward appearance of the guests will notice: Style is important. And clothes, which are known to make people, have always included tattoos. blue Music took a look around the OAF and picked out the most beautiful, strangest, smallest and biggest motifs.

You can see what festival-goers are wearing on their skin in the picture gallery above.

    Tyler, The Creator enjoys Switzerland

During his visit to Switzerland, US rapper Tyler, The Creator took the opportunity to explore the landscape a little more.

On Instagram, he posted a swim, a hot chocolate in the mountains and finally his departure at the airport.

What else is there to experience besides the music?

Either way, the party goes on, but to prevent boredom from creeping in, visitors can entertain themselves at the OAF - or take advantage of the many activities on the festival grounds.

In addition to the skate park and basketball court, there are also football and card games. A drink is also a must, but not for free! However, the boys don't want any money. Check it out in the picture gallery.

Summer, sun and sweat on the first day

In the past, Openair Frauenfeld has always had to contend with that darn rain. We shouldn't paint the devil on the wall, but in 2022 - the first festival summer after the corona measures - things are already looking good at the start!

blue Host Annina Frey is out and about among the crowd, the atmosphere is good. And although the sun is blazing, rapper Loredana takes to the stage wearing gloves and a hat - you're going to sweat during her performance.

You can watch her concert from the previous evening again for free here.

Of course, the sunglasses also have to fit

In addition to the heat in the crowds, who have all made the pilgrimage to Frauenfeld in style, you also have to protect yourself from the sun - without always looking at the stage with squinted eyes.

The festival-goers are sometimes swanky, sometimes simple, sometimes colorful, sometimes classic when they put on their sunglasses.

In the picture gallery you can see the most stylish sunglasses from the start of the festival on Wednesday. Even some rap artists could take a leaf out of their book.

Thick beats and head nodding await hip-hop fans

The weather is fine, the crowds are slowly flowing towards the racecourse in Frauenfeld. The openair is once again attracting fans of hip-hop culture to eastern Switzerland.

Loredana, Trippie Redd, Stereo Luchs and Grammy winner Tyler, The Creator, who will take to the stage shortly before midnight, will kick things off today, Wednesday.

During the four days, young talents and veterans will share the microphone, while the hip-hop heavyweights on the North and South Stages will keep the crowds going - right up to and including Saturday.

The crowning finale on the main stage will be provided by superstar A$AP Rocky and German rap veteran - and Frauenfeld returnee - Sido.
