  • After the Rammstein concert in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius at the end of May, 24-year-old Shelby Lynn made serious accusations against the German band.
  • After questioning the woman a few days ago, the police rejected a criminal investigation against Till Lindemann and other band members.
  • Lynn is now defending herself against this. She has filed a complaint.

At the weekend, the Lithuanian newspaper "Lrytas" reported that the police in Vilnius were not opening a criminal investigation against Rammstein singer Till Lindemann.

The background to the preliminary investigation, which lasted almost two weeks, were allegations made by 24-year-old Shelby Lynn. The Northern Irish woman called the police after attending the Rammstein concert in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius on May 22.

She had met Till Lindemann before the concert and had been drugged by people from the band's circle. Shortly afterwards, the 60-year-old singer wanted to have sex with her, according to the accusation, which Lindemann subsequently denied.

Shelby Lynn: "I have lodged an objection in writing"

However, the decision by the police in Vilnius still has to be confirmed by the public prosecutor's office. When asked by the German newspaper "Welt", the authorities stated that they had not yet made a final decision.

However, Shelby Lynn does not want to wait any longer and has now lodged an appeal against the decision.

"I filed a written appeal yesterday. I have also asked to see the files. I am completely irritated by the actions of the Lithuanian police," Lynn told Die Welt.

Chances of further investigations still intact

In Lithuania, the police may only refuse to initiate proceedings "if the information about the offense is obviously false" or "no act constituting a crime or offense has been committed".

According to the German-Lithuanian lawyer Mindaugas Jacinevičius, the chances are intact that the Lithuanian investigating authorities could reopen the investigation.

It is still unclear whether other members of Rammstein were also questioned during the preliminary investigation. When asked by "Die Welt", neither the police in Vilnius nor the law firm Schertz Bergmann, which represents Lindemann, had any comment on the matter.
