  • Pop singer Beatrice Egli has reached the Olympus of the German-speaking entertainment industry: with her own Saturday evening show on ARD and as a "DSDS" judge on RTL.
  • But the 35-year-old still has one wish for the future: she dreams of a career as an actress.
  • "I have successfully completed drama school. I would be delighted if I could live out this talent one day," she says in an interview with "Schweiz am Wochenende".

Beatrice Egli is at the peak of her career as a singer so far: "I have changed positively, I am stronger, more confident, freer and happier than ever before," says the 35-year-old in an interview with "Schweiz am Wochenende".

Last year, the pop singer made a fresh start with a completely new management team and her album "Balance".

"A transformation has taken place. The decision to make a fresh start was also a risk for me and allowed me to grow," says Egli. "It wasn't easy at first to let go of the familiar and try something new. But it was worth it. I'm a different, grown-up Beatrice today."

Beatrice Egli: "Switzerland remains my base"

The past few months have awakened the singer's curiosity. "I have a great desire to keep rediscovering my music," says Beatrice Egli. She continues: "There are still exciting things to come this year, I can promise you that."

She is currently traveling a lot and enjoying it. However, Switzerland remains her base. "I need the moments in Switzerland where I can recharge my batteries. I also want to have a private life alongside my job."

Egli remains tight-lipped about the rumors of a possible relationship with Florian Silbereisen: "For us, singing the song 'Das wissen nur wir' is above all great fun. And the song also answers all the interview questions."

In response to the "Schweiz am Wochenende" journalist's comment that the song doesn't answer any questions, Egli explains: "Yes, and that's a good thing. I haven't said anything and it will stay that way. The song is meant to stimulate the imagination. Everyone should interpret what they want into it."

"I want to reach people who don't listen to pop"

With the "Beatrice Egli Show" on ARD's Saturday evening program, the pop singer has reached the Olympus of the German-speaking entertainment industry, so to speak.

Planning is currently underway for the next show, which will be broadcast in April. "It will once again be a very varied, musically broad-based show. I also want to reach people who don't necessarily listen to pop songs," says Egli.

The singer from Schwyz is also returning to the casting show "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" (DSDS) as a judge this year. In other words, to the place where her international career as a singer began eleven years ago.

But the pop singer still has one wish for her future: she wants to be in the movies.

"I actually dream of a movie role," Egli reveals in the interview. "On Sunday evenings on ZDF, as a contrast to 'Tatort', there's always the movie of the heart: 'Traumschiff' and 'Rosamunde Pilcher'"

It is a big dream of hers to play a beautiful role in such a movie one day. "I successfully completed a three-year acting school. I would be delighted if I could live out this talent one day."

Well then, let's see how quickly "Traumschiff" captain Florian Silbereisen will fulfill his duet partner's wish.
