Zermatt Unplugged Newcomer Andryy is looking forward to the big stage

3.7.2024

Andryy, a musician from Winterthur, is excited to finally be back on the big festival stage. He is one of the 20 discoveries performing as Discovery Acts at Zermatt Unplugged 2022.

Andryy is soaking up the sun on the ski slopes in Bettmeralp. He can really use this energy as he is currently writing new songs that will soon be released as an EP or even an album, as the winner of the blue music show "Sing It Your Way" 2020 explains in the video.

And he is looking forward to the upcoming festival summer. He will be performing on the big stage with his band for the first time after an arduous pandemic period that put the brakes on his first two career years.

On a scale of 1 to 10: how much is he looking forward to the upcoming festival summer? "27!", Andryy says spontaneously and laughs.

New talents at the start

As part of the Discover 2022 program, Zermatt Unplugged is giving the stage to 20 up-and-coming talents.

One of them is Sam Himself. The Basel native lived in New York, came to his old home two years ago for a tour with Anna Rossinelli - and stayed right here due to the coronavirus. His raspy voice and dreamy ballads are his trademark. He has his album "Power Ballads" with him in Zermatt.

Andreas Kümmert has had an eventful career. The South German was the winner of "Voice of Germany" and released the top 3 album "Here I am". Andreas Kümmert could have taken part in the ESC in 2015, but he didn't want to. Despite this, he released two high-profile albums. The artist has been trying out more since 2020.

Critics have described the songs of Kings Elliot, a young musician of British-Swiss origin, as incredibly beautiful. Emotional ballads such as "I'm Getting Tired Of Me", "Call Me A Dreamer" or "Bitter Tonic" are on her music program. Attention, make sure you have some tissues ready. The musician released the EP "Chaos In My Court" at the end of 2021 and already has an international record deal in the bag.

Native Young are a collective of artists led by Yannick Meyer from Cape Town. Yannick is constantly gathering new comrades-in-arms, storytellers and thoroughbred musicians around him. With his concert, he brings a piece of South African culture to Valais. The artist collective received the South African Music Award for the album "Kings".
