On Saturday evening, the crowd at the Montreux Jazz Festival had to contend with several disappointments.

Switzerland was knocked out of the European Championship. It rained a lot. And then James Arthur was only able to start his concert an hour and a half later than planned due to the bad weather.

Even the enthusiastic football fan James Arthur didn't see it coming that England would win against Switzerland. In an interview with blue News before his show, he asserted: "I think you will win because Switzerland have simply played much better than England so far."

Unfortunately, that didn't help.

New album "Bitter Sweet Love"

The 36-year-old artist hoped in advance that "we can still be friends - no matter how it turns out". His Swiss fans didn't hold it against him that he was one of the opponents of the football evening. In front of the stage, they braved the unpleasant weather with umbrellas and raincoats and held out until the delay was over.

James Arthur rose to fame with songs such as "Impossible" and "Rewrite The Stars", and his album "Bitter Sweet Love" has just been released. In 2012, the Englishman won the ninth season of the casting show "The X Factor".

Before his performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival, James Arthur enthuses about Switzerland, where he would love to live if he wasn't at home in the UK. In the video, he also talks about the importance of his new album and calls love the most fundamental thing we have in the world.
