Nemo plays the Waldbühne on Thursday evening. Before the concert at the Gurtenfestival, Nemo takes a look back at 2016 with blue Music and how it all began.

No time? blue News summarizes for you

  • Nemo was on stage at a Swiss festival for the first time after winning the ESC.
  • blue News met Nemo before his performance.
  • In the interview, the Biel talent talks about his beginnings, family and a new, different kind of pressure.

Nemo and blue Music host Bettina Bestgen travel back to 2016: when Nemo tore it up at the SRF Bounce Cypher and became famous overnight. "Nothing has been the same since then," says Nemo looking back.

This was followed shortly afterwards by Nemo's first EP and one thing led to another until Nemo ultimately became the first non-binary person to win the ESC. A success, a miracle for Switzerland too - as our one is usually placed in the losers' places.

"There are always moments when I can reflect on everything that has happened since then," says Nemo. "I'm super lucky with my friends and my family who surround me." Ultimately, that's what counts for Nemo.

"However, I feel an incredible amount of pressure - also towards myself," says Nemo. Especially when it comes to making something of this big moment, "then I tell myself: you're not that important"

Nemo draws strength from his parents, who "give me great input over the phone and also have really great ideas when I get stuck", says Nemo.
