On Tuesday evening, Helene Fischer made Zurich's Hallenstadion shake. It was the start of a total of five Swiss concerts on her "Rausch" tour. blue News was there.

No time? blue News summarizes for you

  • Helene Fischer plays her first of five concerts in Switzerland at Zurich's Hallenstadion on September 19.
  • 45,000 tickets for Zurich have been sold.
  • The queen of pop thrills the crowd with old and new hits.
  • The singer is on stage with artists from Cirque du Soleil.

Shortly after 8 p.m., she suddenly appears on stage: pop queen Helene Fischer. Or rather: she is hanging.

Fischer floats towards her first show in Zurich attached to steel cables. "How we have longed for this day - Zurich!" Fischer calls out to the crowd. And thanks the applause with a charming "Merci viu mal". And tells us that the last time she performed in the Hallenstadion was six years ago.

Alongside Helene Fischer and her band, dancers and artists from Cirque du Soleil whirl across the stage. The backdrop - gigantic. There is so much going on that as a spectator you don't even know where to look first.

You also have to let her singing sink in. Every note is right, her voice is clear, captivating and engaging. "She can already sing. Sounds one to one like Spotify," says one audience member approvingly.

Fire, rain, flying tricks

There are several outfit changes, fire elements, artificial rain and, of course, spectacular acrobatics.

There is no sign of her accident at her concert in Hanover last June - Helene Fischer injured her nose during a routine on the trapeze - for the audience. Helene twirls through the air with her partner Thomas Seitel or gyrates on a rotating ladder on the upper rungs above the audience.

Another time, Helene Fischer is attached to a kind of robotic gripper arm. With this device, she is whirled over the heads of the audience, sometimes upside down. She still sings her hit "Atemlos" effortlessly, as if she were taking a relaxed stroll.

Helene Fischer seeks contact with fans

Between all the whirling around, the medley interlude is downright relaxing for the head and eyes. It's an intimate moment that Helene Fischer shares with the audience during her show.

Fans hold up posters. One reads: "Drawing for you, selfie for me". Another says "450 concerts - only the selfie is still missing".

And Helene Fischer seeks contact with her fans, fulfills the superfans' photo requests and dryly counters the unsuccessful attempt by a group of boys to put their hands on each other's shoulders: "So, now there's one lying on the floor. But at least you didn't spill the beer."

Helene Fischer masters the game between perfection and personal moments perfectly - and yet remains a mystery. All she says about her private life is: "Maybe you've noticed - I'm very happy in my private life."

Son gives mommy Helene Fischer concert tickets

Christine, small, gray hair, beams all over her face during the concert. She came from Glattbrugg to see Helene Fischer. She got the concert tickets as a present from her son, she tells blue News. "I had wanted to see Helene Fischer for a long time. I've never seen a woman as famous as her, who is so humble and down to earth."

With more than 17 million records sold, Helene Fischer is one of the most successful musicians in Europe. She powers through her spectacular show seemingly effortlessly, interrupted only by a 20-minute break.

Helene Fischer is not only a singer and entertainer, but also an endurance athlete at the highest level. Regardless of whether you like pop songs or not, someone has to imitate her to pull off this program.

Helene Fischer somehow has it all. From pop and ballads to a country feel, circus interludes and a fiery rock show. Her pop songs cannot be pigeonholed. At the end, Helene Fischer really turns up the heat with "Achterbahn".

And the fans stagger home a little exhausted from all the impressions, but "Happy" - as one song on her album is called.

Helene Fischer is performing in Zurich up to and including September 24.
