Helene Fischer had to temporarily postpone her tour after suffering an injury on stage.
The pop singer has now restarted it with a concert in Cologne.
She had an involuntary two-month summer break after suffering a bloody nose from a trapeze bar.
Helene Fischer emphasized this several times during the evening: "I'm extremely emotional today," she confessed to her fans in Cologne's Lanxess Arena on Friday. "It's like a second premiere for us here tonight." It feels great to be back on stage - after a two-month summer break, "but of course also because of the injury". Her last concert in Hanover in June ended abruptly after she injured her face with a trapeze bar and left the stage bleeding.
The second part of the mega tour "Rausch", which comprises 71 concerts, is now starting again in Cologne. The pop queen is playing seven of them in Cologne alone until 2 September - according to the organizers, more than 100,000 tickets have been sold.
"As you can see, I'm doing fantastic," Fischer calls out to the fans. "You've so earned this show - you've been waiting for it since March." The tour had started a few weeks later than planned in spring because the artist had broken a rib during rehearsals. As a result, the Cologne concerts, among others, were postponed.
Fischer: "I really wanted to do acrobatics"
The pop queen showed no sign of her previous injuries on Friday as she took part in some daring acrobatics scenes. She also swings through the air on the trapeze again - although the act has been toned down somewhat, as a spokeswoman for the organizers confirmed. The final jump, in which Fischer injured herself two months ago, has been scrapped; instead, she glides rather gently into a jumping cloth.
"Of course I set myself the challenge again, I really wanted to do acrobatics," she says afterwards, visibly relieved. "But I'm only human, and mistakes happen to me too." So it's all the better that everything went well this time. "You can believe me: I'm not reckless. We did everything very, very safely and we all just want to enjoy a great show together," Fischer assures the almost 15,000 spectators.
Three-hour concert, 28 songs
Some of them hold their breath during the aerial acrobatics, but otherwise they sing, clap and celebrate along loudly. The pop queen performed around 28 songs at the three-hour concert, including songs from her current "Rausch" album, but also many well-known songs such as "Achterbahn", "Phänomen", "Mit keinem andern" and, of course, her super hit "Atemlos durch die Nacht".
Sometimes the singer stands in a circle of fire, sometimes in the middle of a waterfall, often she is surrounded by dancers. "I've got goosebumps all the time today, I don't even know what's going on," she says, pressing her hands to her chest.
Fortunately, the concert goes off without a hitch. As usual, the exceptional artist delivers a perfect show. At the end, the majority of the audience go home satisfied - and Fischer, in her own words, "blissfully to bed". Her conclusion: "It was a magical evening."
