Beatrice Egli and Dieter Bohlen are both on the jury for the latest season of "DSDS". They haven't had any contact since her victory in 2013, so Egli wanted to talk to the pop titan about appreciation.

  • Beatrice Egli emerged as the winner of "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" in 2013.
  • Since then, she has had no contact with Dieter Bohlen.
  • Now, shortly before her appearance on the "DSDS" jury, she has sought a conversation with the 70-year-old: "That was very good."

The now 35-year-old singer made her breakthrough on the German casting show "Deutschland sucht den Superstar". Already on the jury back then: Dieter Bohlen (70).

Now the singer from Schwyz is taking her own place as a juror alongside Bohlen in the new season of "DSDS".

As she told the "Aargauer Zeitung" newspaper, she sought a conversation with the pop titan before the start of the new episodes - and before agreeing to take part at all. They hadn't been in contact since 2013: "I wanted to clarify a few things with Dieter. That did us both a lot of good." They had parted ways back then and a lot had remained unspoken.

"This is a new beginning"

Egli brings up the keyword "appreciation" with Bohlen, but immediately admits: "This is a new beginning. I have a different position next to him today."

Beatrice Egli will join Bohlen, rapper Loredana (28) and Pietro Lombardi (31) in the latest season of the casting show to judge the candidates on their skills. Like Lombardi, the pop singer has already experienced being a contestant on Bohlen's show and is therefore likely to be less harsh on them.
