The talent show "America's Got Talent" is looking for the next superstars of the USA. A nine-year-old singer wowed the audience with her version of a Tina Turner song - and elicited a very special reaction from Heidi Klum.
Whether singing, dancing, comedy or even magic: anyone with a special talent in the entertainment sector can apply to Simon Cowell's show "America's Got Talent" in the USA. This TV event has already produced a few stars, such as singer Grace VanderWaal or voice impersonator Melissa Villaseñor, who was hired after her performance in "Toy Story 4". The German version of the successful format, which has been exported to numerous countries, is the RTL show "Das Supertalent".
After VanderWaal, who was twelve years old when she took part in the show, the next young star may now have risen in the musical firmament. Pranysqa Mishra is just nine years old, the singer who impressed not only Cowell but also the other jury members Sofia Vergara and Howie Mandel, and above all supermodel Heidi Klum.
"You are absolutely incredible"
Each jury member on "America's Got Talent" has the opportunity to press the so-called Golden Buzzer twice per season. If one of the four stars on the jury decides to do so, the respective contestant immediately moves on to the next round without the other jury members having a say.
The Golden Buzzer is therefore a rarely awarded honor. But when Heidi Klum hears the young singer belting out the Tina Turner hit "River Deep, Mountain High", she can't help but express her enthusiasm as she awards the nine-year-old's performance with her second Golden Buzzer of the current season. "You are absolutely incredible," praised Klum, who also noted that she had been skeptical before the performance because Pranysqa had seemed so shy in the interview before the show.
In addition to Tina Turner, Pranysqa Mishra also named Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston as role models. She is now a big step closer to her dream of following in the footsteps of these powerful-voiced women.
