Museums Basel Museum Night slightly better attended than last year
With 120,000 admissions on Saturday night, the organizers of Basel Museum Night recorded slightly more admissions than last year. The Museum Night was particularly popular with young people, according to the Canton of Basel-Stadt.

The longer the evening lasted, the more of a party atmosphere was created in the institutions, wrote the Canton of Basel-Stadt in a communiqué after the event.
By one hour before the end, the organizers had counted 120,770 admissions. The ten guest institutions recorded an unprecedented level of interest with around 32,600 admissions, according to the communiqué. In addition to the guest institutions, 30 museums also opened their doors late at night.
"I am thrilled to see how art and culture can be experienced by everyone in such an accessible and entertaining way," said Conradin Cramer (LDP), President of the Basel government, in the press release.
The FC Basel fan club Saal 12 of the Muttenzerkurve took part in this year's edition for the first time as a guest institution. A special exhibition of fan textiles was created especially for the event. According to the press release, the event was very popular with the public.
The next Museum Night Basel is planned for January 23, 2026.
