On Sunday, November 24, Annika shared new information on her Instagram Story. She reported that the past few days had been very challenging. "You're always busy inside not giving up, always carrying on, not losing heart, not losing faith... Always hoping that one day everything will turn out well and that all the effort and energy you put into everything will one day be positively rewarded," she said in a video.

Challenges in everyday life

Annika Kärsten-Hoenig went on to explain: "I had to focus on the most important things." She is proud to be able to organize everyday life with her children alongside the intensive care of her husband. "I'm proud of myself that, in addition to caring for my husband, which is really very intensive, I manage to organize everything, with the two little mice and also with my older daughter. 18 is sometimes a difficult age." As a qualified nurse, she is on duty around the clock.

A look into the future

After an initial operation, Heinz Hoenig is still waiting for an operation on his aorta, which can only be carried out when his health is stable enough. Annika reports that things are slowly improving and that she has learned from this experience: "I would be differently equipped for many of the trials in life that still lie ahead of me if I didn't go through all of this."
