Andy Schmid (41) was inducted into the Hall of Fame during the European Women's Handball Championship final in Vienna. Schmid is the first Swiss handball player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Andy Schmid retired in January of this year. The five-time Bundesliga MVP, record Swiss international goalscorer and current national coach was inducted into the European Handball Federation (EHF) Hall of Fame along with 21 other players - including Nikola Karabatic and Mikkel Hansen.
81 handball players have been inducted into the Hall of Fame so far - and Andy Schmid is the first Swiss player to do so.
