Young Boys and Lucerne drew 1-1, a draw that was particularly annoying for the Bernese side.
Donat Rrudhani, of all people, set up FC Luzern's equalizer almost out of nowhere. The midfielder, on loan from YB, lobbed the ball over the Bernese defenders and into the path of Thibault Klidjé. The latter, starting just outside the offside line, scored in the 79th minute to make it 1:1, which referee Luca Cibelli only awarded after the video referee intervened. It was Klidjé's seventh goal of the season.
A 1:1 was much less in the air than a 2:0 from YB. The Bernese left a serene impression until the flash of inspiration from their loan player. Especially after Darian Males' opening goal following a mistake by Lucerne defender Luca Jaquez in the 34th minute, the Swiss champions skillfully dictated the tempo. Ten minutes before the equalizer, Cedric Itten missed the 2:0 with a header by a few centimetres.
After the 15th round, YB are still waiting for two wins in a row in this Super League season. The Bernese, who have been plagued by injuries, have yet to really get going. They will have to be more efficient if they want to get back into the championship fight. In addition to nine injured players, top scorer Joël Monteiro was also suspended in Lucerne.
