After red for Hansi Flick Barcelona miss out on victory at Betis Sevilla in stoppage time

It was a bad day for Hansi Flick in Sevilla. First he sees a red card himself, then his team squanders a lead twice.

After receiving a red card, coach Hansi Flick had to sit idly by as leaders FC Barcelona suffered a late setback in the Spanish football championship. The former national coach was sent off during the Catalans' 2:2 (1:0) draw with Betis Sevilla before the penalty to make it 1:1 after apparently complaining too loudly. Flick continued to watch the game from behind a pane of glass in the stands.

Barcelona conceded a 2-2 equalizer through Assane Diao in the fourth minute of stoppage time. The leaders had previously taken the lead twice through Robert Lewandowski (39') and Ferran Torres (82'). Giovani Lo Celso scored the goal to make it 1-1 with a penalty (68') after the referee had reviewed the scene on video. Flick did not agree with the penalty decision.

Barça are five points ahead of defending champions Real Madrid in the table, who can still catch up this evening at FC Girona. The Whites still have one more game to make up.
