The man is suspected of having obtained non-public information that was subject to official secrecy between 2014 and 2016, both directly and via an intermediary, as announced by the Zurich cantonal public prosecutor's office on Friday.

The Zurich public prosecutor's office II suspects that private individuals engaged the 52-year-old to obtain information about competitors or other opponents, for example. In order to fulfill these orders, the accused is said to have issued orders from Zurich and arranged payments to officials.

The public prosecutor's office has now filed an indictment with the Zurich District Court. The 52-year-old has not confessed.
