For the third time in two days, an alarm has been raised in London and the surrounding area due to suspicious objects. A package was detonated in a controlled manner at Euston station in the British capital, according to Scotland Yard.

The incident occurred just one day after London Gatwick Airport was partially sealed off on Friday - also because of a suspicious package. It was rendered harmless by explosives experts.

Also on Friday, a suspicious package was discovered near the US embassy in London. There, too, the area was initially cordoned off and the package was detonated. Scotland Yard later announced that, according to initial findings, it was a dummy. It was initially unclear whether there was a connection between the incidents.
