A farmer discovered the body of a child in the German state of Lower Saxony at around 4.30 p.m. on June 24.
The discovery site is around seven and a half kilometers away from the place where six-year-old Arian disappeared in April.
The police are now investigating whether the body is Arian's mortal remains. However, it is "probable".
A farmer made a gruesome discovery in the German municipality of Estorf yesterday, Monday, at around 4.30 pm: The farmer discovered the body of a child in his meadow, reports the news agency dpa. There is now speculation that it could be the mortal remains of little Arian: The six-year-old went missing in April.
The place where the body was found is around seven and a half kilometers from the boy's home. A police spokesperson in the federal state of Lower Saxony stated that it was "currently not possible to say with certainty who the child found was". However, it is "probably" the boy.
The farmer who found the dead boy toldBildthat a worker had alerted him. "My employee was scared out of his pants. And I realized right away what it could only be," said the farmer. He contacted the police and showed them the location.
The police had already searched for the boy on his property earlier. "There were so many helpers here and they looked in every hole on our farm."
There was probably no crime
Arian, who comes from Elm, a district of Bremervörde between Bremerhaven and Hamburg, has been missing since April 22. For around a week, emergency services and helpers searched for the boy day and night in villages, meadows and forests. At times, up to 1200 people were involved.
The last search for Arian lasted another two days in mid-May. The police have several suspicions as to what might have happened to Arian. The most likely scenario is that Arian had an accident with no outside involvement.
The fact that the emergency services found small footprints on the Baltic Sea, which probably belonged to Arian, speaks against a criminal case.
