At a meeting with his counterpart No Kwang Chol in North Korea, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Beloussov reaffirmed the good relations between the two countries.

According to the Russian state news agency Tass, Beloussov stated that cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang was being actively expanded in the military field.

According to the information, Beloussov recalled the already signed agreement on a comprehensive strategic partnership. He praised the good relations between the two countries and their leaders. He also said that the comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and North Korea was aimed at reducing the risk of war in North-East Asia. The Russian Ministry of Defense published a video of Beloussov's arrival at the airport.

Russia and North Korea have moved closer together against the backdrop of the sanctions imposed on both countries. Military cooperation has come under particular criticism. Pyongyang is said to have not only supplied Moscow with artillery ammunition and missiles, but also deployed more than 10,000 soldiers to the war zone on the Russian border with Ukraine.
