In northern France, two migrants and two security forces have died from gunshots. The suspected perpetrator has turned himself in, said a police spokeswoman. The motive and circumstances of the crime in Loon-Plage near Dunkirk were initially unclear.

According to French media reports, a fifth person died from gunshots in nearby Wormhout. The local newspaper "La Voix du Nord" wrote that the suspect was a man in his early 20s and that the judiciary was investigating.
