According to media reports, at least three people have been killed and 39 others injured in an explosion at a festival in western Thailand. According to the reports, an unknown person threw an improvised explosive device near a dance stage. The incident took place in Tak province near the border with Myanmar. The background to the incident was initially unclear.

Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra expressed her sympathy to the victims' families on Platform X. She had instructed the police and security authorities to investigate the incident and bring those responsible to justice.
