The proportion of permanently exhausted employees is at an all-time high at around a third of all employees. This is shown by the "Good Work Barometer", an annual survey conducted by the employee umbrella organization Travail.Suisse and the Bern University of Applied Sciences.

At a media conference on Friday, Travail.Suisse announced that the proportion of highly stressed employees is continuously increasing and exhaustion is spreading. Stress has thus manifested itself as the biggest problem in the world of work in recent years.
An overwhelming majority of 84.2 percent of employees are occasionally too exhausted after work to take care of private or family matters. For more than one in three, this is often or very often the case, which for Travail.Suisse is tantamount to permanent exhaustion.
"Combating stress must become an absolute political priority," demanded Travail.Suisse Vice-President and National Councillor Léonore Porchet (Greens/VD).
