After the birth of her daughter, Therese Johaug wants to know it again. The Norwegian finishes second in the 10 km classic individual cross-country comeback in Ruka.

Only Sweden's Frida Karlsson did not allow the 36-year-old to put the competition in her place. On the contrary: Frida Karlsson skied in a league that was also out of reach for Therese Johaug. The winner's lead was 46 seconds. Third-placed Katharina Hennig from Germany was also just under a minute behind.

Therese Johaug had actually ended her extremely successful career in March 2022 as a 14-time world champion, four-time Olympic champion and winner of 82 individual World Cups. She became a mother in May 2023 - but something was missing.

Nadine Fähndrich, Switzerland's number 1, decided not to compete. The Lucerne native is concentrating on Saturday's sprint. The best Swiss result in the women's race went to Anja Weber in 28th place (2:18 minutes behind).
